Το Big Brother ήταν το πρώτο reality TV show που προσγειώθηκε στην ελληνική τηλεόραση στις 10 Σεπτεμβριου του 2001. Εκτοτε έχουμε παρακολουθήσει πολλά reality, αλλα ελάχιστα άντεξαν στο χρόνο με συνεχόμενες σεζόν στο ίδιο κανάλι.
Τα περισσότερα κανάλια δεν επένδυσαν ουσιαστικά στο χώρο του ριάλιτι με σκοπό να χτίσουν μακροπρόθεσμα μια παράδοση στο είδος και μια γκάμα show που αλληλοτροφοδοτούνται. Αν είχε συμβεί κάτι τέτοιο ίσως κάποια στιγμή να βλέπαμε και τη δημιουργία ενός καναλιού εξειδικευμένου σε αυτό το είδος όπως το Bravo ή το VH1 στην Αμερική.
